As the science has advanced, we can know the sex of the child before it's born, and this lead to feticide. Feticide is different than abortion. Abortion is when the baby or the fetus isn't allowed to develop into a baby. Feticide is when the baby is has been formed and after that its sex is determined and then the baby is killed.
Abortion in a way is a lesser degree of crime than Feticide. Abortion involves removal of cells that would develop into a body. Feticide involves killing, it can almost be called a murder.
The gloominess of this whole scenario is why only the girl child? Why does she always has to be the victim all the time? Feticide in India was bans way back in 1994, but still there have been instances of the same.
If the sex of the child wasn't known this wouldn't have been the case. Is it? Not quite! Female infanticide was prevalent when feticide didn't take place. There isn't much difference between the two, only that one was allowed to cry into this world under the open sky and one wasn't.
